The Spoils

Needless to say I am quite satisfied with my Christmas this year.

Christmas Eve

I happen to know that I am receiving a hefty pile of incredible art books for Christmas this year, along with some great art supplies I've been wanting for a while...Should be great! Can't wait to crack em open and see how full I can pack my bookshelf once I return to my dorm at Ringling. Merry Christmas to you all!

In the meantime, here's an illustration I'm working on and a few drawings I hadn't uploaded due to a lack of a good camera. The portraits were 10 minutes each; and the last is of my Drawing teacher, Richard Tuschman. Check out his work by clicking on his name in the list to your right ----->

Mailbag Art Museum

One of Sarah's tiny, exquisite gift illustrations

Heard of this endeavor from the Lines and Colors blog; it's a fascinating undertaking by artist and illustrator Sarah Musi, in respect for her favorite artists.

Basically she's been mailing all of her top picks some original work of her own, and a short query. With this is also a request for an answer to the question and for some original artwork from the artist, however small or simple. Most of the replies she has gotten back (a total of 11 so far) are very interesting to read. I am especially excited to see what some of the artists who have yet to respond will say (if anything), as the list of waiting-to-hear-from contains a few of my very favorite illustrators, such as Jillian Tamaki, James Jean, Tomer Hanuka, and Eric Fortune.

Can't wait to see how it will develop. Good luck to you, Sarah!

Small update

Some sketchbook pages from the past month or two; some master studies, some life drawing, and some media experimentation. I have other things to upload, but I just need to find a better way to get them onto the computer in quality. Portraits to come~
